About lemon: LEMON A1110989 A Volunteer writes : Lemon looks quite serious in her pictures and it took me a while to bring a smile on her face. Lemon is no lemon but a beautiful young girl dressed in the warmest and most perfect chocolate coat. I love her pretty white shoes She is at the edges of puppy hood, has already acquired a number of skills and is just waiting for you to put the finishing touches to her upbringing. Lemon is a good walker. She is a tinsy winsy shy but walks tail happy through the noisy streets, curious of her peers and hinting at wanting to chase the squirrels. She poses for pictures, even sits for them, jumps for treats and will roll in submission at my feet for belly rubs. She owns the cutest pout..She is such a girl I did not have a chance to play in the yard with her but as we wrestled gently on a bench in the park, I saw a sparkle in her eyes, her mouth opening in excitement(a little of mouthy ness too) and happiness coming to her face Lemon is most likely a very lively young gal who needs a new home and a loving family to fully come out of her shell and be the gem you have been waiting for. Lemon is at the Manhattan Care Center. Come and meet her soon. Another volunteer writes: What time is it? Its Belly Rub O clock says Miss Lemon, as she flops over for yet another belly rub! Beyond adorable as she prances down the street in her gorgeous milk chocolate color coat, her tail wagging at every person and dog we pass, and all of a sudden flopping over for a belly rub! If you have never rubbed a dogs belly on busy First Avenue, just wait for the crowd you attract and ohs and ahs you will hear. Lemon is all puppy, a bit mouthy in her happiness, her gorgeous white teeth betraying her youth, and testifying to her good care. Climbing into the lap of a volunteer, she likes to swing and contort herself into funny positions, and we laughed and said she reminded us of play doh. Fun, friendly, affectionate, and the perfect antidote to any bad day (you?ll never have one with her by your side), When life gives you lemons, make Lemonade! Shes waiting for you to take her home. SAFER ASSESSMENT: Look: 1. Dogs eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is low wagging, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessors cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans in and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture, mouth closed Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, a bit fearful mid game and requires gentle coaxing to complete game. Squeeze 1 / 2: 2. Dog gently places her open mouth over the Assessors hand without applying pressure, rolls onto ground playfully. Toy 1. Dog playfully engages, will relinquish toy to you. Summary: Lemon showed no concerning behavior during her assessment. DOG DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT: Selective: These dogs can succeed with certain other dogs, but may be more selective or picky. They may dislike certain types of dogs or styles of dog play so they may require extra supervision when interacting with other dogs. PLAYGROUP: Lemon engages playfully with male dogs in the care center. Lemon may be selective when interacting and has displayed tense, uncomfortable behavior around other female dogs. The behavior department recommends slow introductions between Lemon and playful or tolerant male dogs at this time. 5/6: When off leash with another dog, Lemon engages in bouncy, running play. 5/7: Lemon engages in bouncy play with other dogs. She becomes uncomfortable with and alert barks, offers defensive correction when solicited by a larger, vocal female dog. 5/8: Lemon engages in high intensity chase play. When approached by a playful female, Lemon tenses, vocalizes, while following after her. She is removed from the pen. *** RETURNED 05/26/17 DOH HOLD B *** SPAYED FEMALE, BROWN / WHITE, LABRADOR RETR MIX, 1 yr RETURN ONHOLDHERE, HOLD FOR DOH-B Reason PERS PROB Intake condition EXAM REQ Intake Date 05/26/2017, From NY 10030, DueOut Date 05/26/2017, Medical Behavior Evaluation GREEN Medical Summary DVM Intake Exam Estimated age:1yr Microchip noted on Intake? yes History : returned by owner Subjective: Observed Behavior energetic, no aggression, a little mouthy at play Evidence of Cruelty seen no Evidence of Trauma seen no Objective P = 90 R = 24 BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: pink gums PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: grossly normal MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: apparently healthy Plan ok for adoptions Prognosis: good SURGERY: n/a, already neutered Weight 54.2
