He obviously has live a hard outdoor life. Spot was surrendered to an officer in the field. This boy obviously has skin issues which are being addressed at the shelter. I spent a while with Spot yesterday, and no decent pictures were had. The shelter was about to close, and I wondered if he might be deaf as you could NOT get his attention. So first thing today Spot and I spent a good amount of time in the quiet volunteer office. My guess is this boy does not hear. Squeaky toys with a wide range "of squeaks" were totally ignored. Slamming doors, banding pans, whatever....no reaction. Now we know why he won't look at the camera lol. Spot is very sweet, and he loves attention. He has a great nose for sure!⚠️PER FOMAS 💥OWNER SURRENDER/FIELD💥 Reason for Surrender----321822 - previous owner recently lost her job and has multiple kids and cannot afford the dog at this timeMy name is SPOT. I am a male, brown and white dog. I weighed 42.3 LBS at intake. The shelter staff think I am about 10 months old. I am heartworm positive. I have been at the shelter since Feb 19, 2020.I will be held at Memphis Animal Services until 02/19/2020 to give my owner (if I have one) an opportunity to reclaim me. I am available to be pre-adopted now. Pre-adoption must be done in person at the shelter at 2350 Appling City Cove and will be canceled if my owner reclaims or anything else occurs preventing me from being adopted. Pre-adoption fees are not refundable but will remain as a credit on your account towards another adoption.
