About slate: Slate ACCT-A-107626 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to medical concerns. Slate is a 2 year old surrendered in early February. His owners described him as sweet and loving and just wanted to cuddle with you. He allows all handling and loves to lean in for more pets. Slate was very social and allowed full body handling. He LOVES tennis balls and is energetic and bouncy, though despite this he still plays very gently and doesn't get jumpy. Unfortunately, Slate was recently adopted and returned after nipping the son in the home. Slate was out for a walk with his adopters when a Great Dane came around a corner and Slate reacted, and ran at the other dog and tried to bite him. His owner grabbed his collar and pulled him away, and her son reached to pat Slate on the head to calm him down and he nipped the son on the arm. Since his return, Slate has had to be on quarantine, which meant limited time outside of the kennel and increased his stress. He's becoming more stressed, hard barking and lunging at the kennel door. We want to avoid him deteriorating further, and are looking for an adopter or rescue that has no dogs and no children, and will give Slate the time that he needs to become comfortable in a new and hopefully forever home.
