About phyre: PHYRE aka FIRE A1125692 MALE, TAN / WHITE, PIT BULL MIX, 1 yr STRAY STRAY WAIT, HOLD FOR DISASTER Reason FIRE Intake condition EXAM REQ Intake Date 09/16/2017, From NY 10469, DueOut Date 09/21/2017, I came in with Group/Litter #K17111619. A volunteer writes:Phyre and housemate Bolo went through a mill. Together with their human family, they were caught in a house fire and brought to us. I have not met Bolo but handsome Phyre suffers from smoke inhalation that we are mending and various burns and sores. He is a bit shaken up, tired and often can be seen/heard snoring softly in his bed. He has a little cough that will most likely soon resolve. No wonder that Phyre is a little wary. I wake him up, leash him and take him for a walk around the yard. Fresh air can only do him good. Feeling better about me, Phyre relaxes. His tail comes out and he accepts my caresses. He is a good looking lad with a gentle face and velvety eyes. His coat is well groomed and is weight, perfect. We wish Phyre a very prompt recovery and a soon a safe home sweet home where he will forget all about his ordeal. A volunteer updates: Phyre is healing nicely from his burns. He is less scared too and more and more affectionate, leaning into me and asking for caresses. We know each other quite well by now and I so love when his beautiful chestnut eyes look tenderly at me Phyres wounds might be better but he has gotten a cold. His weakened body needs fresh air, a soft pillow to rest, gammas chicken soup and the love of a master to heal quickly and find back his spirit. Do not make him wait too long, come and meet him, nurse him back to health and make of him the most amazing best friend you ever had. BEHAVIOR : KNOWN HISTORY: Limited Profile Unaltered male, stray Previously lived with: another similarly sized dog Other: Both Phyre and his housemate were victims of a house fire. SAFER ASSESSMENT: Look: 2. Dogs eyes are averted. His body a bit tense, his tail is low and not moving. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessors cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2.
