About sasha: All dogs adopted from Animal Care and Protective Services are current on all vaccines including rabies shot, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have been tested for heartworms. If they are heartworm positive then the potential adopter will be responsible for treatment. In addition, they have been given heartworm preventative and flea preventative while at the shelter. The adoption fee is $80 and if you are a resident of Duval County there is a city license fee of $20. Dogs that have been at the shelter for an extended amount are often times offered at a discount; please ask a staff member for further details. While we do welcome out of state adoptions, we do not have the resources to transport animals and suggest you come to our shelter to visit them. The majority of animals offered for adoption are strays and we post as much information that is provided to us.
