About luna: Poor Luna, another new baby means she gets the boot. And she was only in this new home for a month. Luna looked very sad being back in her kennel, laying with her back turned and head down. But she is easy to leash and ready to roll once the door opens. She knows the drill. Leash = outside = toys. Luna loves to play! She can destroy a stuffed toy in record time too. Luna sits on command, takes treats gently, and allows all over handling. It was clear she Luna doesn?t really care about anything except playing fetch. She almost immediately came to drop a ball at my feet and nudge our leg, stare us down and give a little bark to encourage our participation. Luna can be vocal when she plays, especially if her person is too slow on the toss. If that doesn?t work, she had no qualms about jumping up to drop the toy in our lap. She doesn?t do really do indirect communication. Luna would love to find a forever home this Howl-o-ween. ***Chicago Animal Care and Control takes in 8,000 dogs a year. The listings on this site are maintained by volunteers, not shelter staff. Due to the volume of animals received each day, delays may occur in updating the list of dogs. Some dogs for this shelter have hard due out dates. Others are listed with estimated due out dates based on the average stay in the shelter, and extended if the dog is still available. This dog's status can change at any time. Act quickly if you are interested in adopting.

If a dog is designated RESCUE ONLY -- Rescue Only dogs are not on the adoption floor. They are available to approved Homeward Bound rescues only. Dogs are rescue only for several reasons: they are waiting to be evaluated for the adoption floor, they have a medical issue, or they may need additional behavior training that CACC cannot provide, but rescues who pull from CACC can. If you are interested in a dog who is marked 'Rescue Only' please contact one of the approved rescue groups to let them know of your interest. You'll need to fill out an application with one of these rescue groups. Once approved you can foster and save a life. Approval or denial is solely the decision of the rescue. Please DO NOT call Chicago ACC regarding Rescue Only dogs.

DogsInDanger does not accept pledges. If you want to pledge for, or sponsor, this dog, please contact the shelter.
