Hi there. My name is Tommy. I'm about 4 years old and I weigh 55 lbs. I was seized from very neglectful conditions along with several other dogs on 8/13/18. We all tested heartworm positive upon our arrival. In addition to my heartworm disease, I also had awful entropion on both eyes. I had my entropion repair done while I was anesthetized for my neuter on 9/4/18. My eyes have healed fabulously and I feel so much better. We went through the pre-treatment course of doxycycline and prednisone and heartworm preventative. We all underwent our 2 dose immiticide injections on 9/18/18 and 9/19/18. I will be on very strict, low activity and leash walk only for the next 6-8 weeks. My new family will need to take over on getting me in to their vet to finish up everything. I will also need to stay on monthly heartworm preventative for the rest of my life to prevent me from getting these horrible heartworms ever again, and though it shouldn't need said, also regular vet care! I can be very shy at first with new people and it can take me a little while to warm up. Once I get to know you, I am a super duper sweet and loving boy! I am a huge fan of cuddling and giving kisses!! I was kept as an outside dog before making my way in to the pound, but I am surprisingly clean and do a good job keeping my kennel clean. I would likely do very well and catch on fast with my potty training once I get to a home and I am on a good schedule. I get along well with most other dogs, but should meet new dogs that I would be living with prior to adoption.
