Uggg I hate when I fall in love with the long shots. This guy isn't usually my type but he has the sweetest personality. He came in as a euthanasia request at just five years old and you can tell that someone did take care of him because he's very sweet. His intake notes show he was scared when he came in, but he really loves people and he won me over very quickly. When I came up to his kennel, he was lying in the back so I put the leash around him and baby talked to him and he walked right out no problems. He had some notes that he had to be lasso in the runs, but he stayed right next to me almost the entire time and would come back to me for affection. I really wish he made it to the adoption floor because I think he would be a great Family dog. I didn't see anything that made me think he was timid or aggressive or anything. He's a really well rounded boy. He did absolutely excellent on his temp test! watch his video throughout the comments.

Euthanasia request
5/31/2026: During intake, Luke was extremely timid and required light muzzling for handling.
📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
6/3/2026: Luke was in the back of the kennel with whale eyes, a tense body, and a tucked tail. He tried to avoid being leashed but was successfully leashed and walked out. He remained tense with a tucked tail while outside.
6/2/2026: Luke's kennel was clean, suggesting he may be potty trained. He was initially curled in the corner with a tense body but eventually approached and allowed staff to leash him. Once outside, he immediately relieved himself and then explored the area. Though still tense, he walked near other dogs without issue. He gradually became more comfortable, approaching staff with a wagging tail and sniffing them. He allowed his leash to be removed while investigating his surroundings.
6/1/2026: Luke was observed in his kennel with dilated eyes and a tense posture. He allowed staff to place a leash on him but repeatedly turned to face the wall. To avoid causing additional stress, staff left him in place.
