A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. She was standing at the gate with wide eyes while growling and exposing her teeth. She relaxed with light coaxing and remained at the gate. The handler opened the gate and easily placed the loop leash over her head. She exited willingly and walked well, next to the runner on the way to a viewing area. She was fearful once inside, keeping to the end of leash with concerned eyes. She would not approach despite coaxing. The hanlder spent a few minutes trust building with her. She was still at end of leash and would not approach. The handler kneeled down and slowly approached her. She pancaked on the ground and sniffed his hand with concerned eyes. She tolerated the handler rubbing the top of her head and back. She avoided eye contact while she was pancaked on the ground. The handler looked in her ears, viewed her teeth, held her tail and held each of her paws without any negative response. As the assessment was concluded, she stood up and created space once again. She walked back to her kennel without issue. She is fearful and needs a go-slow approach. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, ADULTS (REQ), NO SMALL DOGS WITH HISTORY OF KNOWN AGGRESSION DISCLOSURE
