About shonda: Located At: BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions Description: My name is Shonda. I am a female, fawn and tan Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Jul 28, 2026. I am in kennel DB38. 3 year old HW- Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix girl Shonda is on the euthanasia list Monday, 8/3. There will be NO extensions per BARC. 55.4 lbs | HW Negative 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲: 7/28/2026: Per citizen, the dogs are large in size; one is gray and the other is brown in color. 📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: 7/30/2026: This dog greeted me at the kennel door trembling and avoiding eye contact. She let me leash her but was hesitant to walk. With patience I was able to get her to walk halfway to a new kennel where she froze and had to be carried the rest of the way. Inside her kennel she could be seen laying quietly against the back wall. 7/29/2026: Greeted me in the back of the kennel with a tense body and whale eyes. I leashed her and she began thrashing, baby-talked to her and was able to pet her, but she refused to walk, so I changed out her blankets instead. 🚑 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: 7/28/2026: Intake condition normal. Weighed 50.0 lbs. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, flea prevention given, and Heartworm test: Negative. Sedated for handling/tranquilized on intake. 7/29/2026: Weighed 55.4 lbs. Normal exam. Dewormed with Pyrantel.
