Laveno was due for an ear cytology check. Laveno was sitting quietly in the kennel until approached, when he jumped up and ran back and forth, spinning in circles and barking. Laveno was easily leashed and walked with a pull to Vet Services. Laveno was clipped to the wall on leash so I could gather supplies for his exam. Laveno allowed me to pet him all over and appeared to really enjoy his back being scratched. Laveno has had a history of not tolerating his ears being cleaned, so I obtained sedation, walked him into the hallway, and had another staff member make distraction noises down the hall, then quickly injected his muscle on his back right leg with the sedation. Laveno cried out and spun around but did not move to redirect. We quickly walked it off up and down the hallway and then went back into Vet Services for him to fall asleep. He did so with no issues and accepted pets as he fell asleep.

27-JUL-26 - Interact - 07/27/26 15:09 Laveno spends most of his time in his indoor kennel, when people stop at his kennel he stands up politely and walks outside. He has a slow tail wag and whines when they are leaving his kennel. No signs of jumping/ lunging. will return to his indoor portion once people are out of site. He will remain on the inside if people ware just passing and dont stop infront of him. RM

22-JUL-26 - Interact - 07/20/26 Per volunteer: Laveno (A2490514) was easy to leash and walk to the garden. He stopped for a quick treat and pet, then ran off to explore. He took long runs around the garden and leaped into the pool to swim and splash. He came up for pets between runs. He explored the plants, sniffed flowers, ran the yard again, played on the waterfall, and jumped back in the pool. He sat well for treats, had a little trouble with stay, and responded excellently to recall. He chased a few toys and tossed them in the air with mild interest. He was easy to return to his kennel.

16-JUL-26 - Interact - 07/16/26 16:18 Laveno was standing at the kennel door when staff approached. He was eas to leash and had no issues walking to the yard. In the yard, Laveno ran around the yard with the zoomies. He hopped on staff and allowed petting all over. He chased a thrown ball but did not retrieve it. There were no issues returning to the kennel. - NS

09-JUL-26 - Interact - 07/06/26 Per volunteer: Laveno (A2490514) was easy to leash by reaching in low. He walked with a mild to moderate pull to the yard, briefly pulling toward a couple kennels without barking or straining. He ran to the kiddie pool to splash, then jumped on the ramp for pets and treats. He sat beside me on the bench for more attention and climbed the kiddie slide to sit at the top. He responded well and was treat-motivated. In the garden, he played everywhere'swimming in the pool, climbing the waterfall, and rolling in the sandbox. He came up often for pets or treats before heading off again. He walked well back to his kennel.
---
08-JUL-26 - Interact - 07/06/26 Per volunteer: Laveno pulled hard towards the yards. Once there, he was playful and affectionate, splashing in the pool for a minute and zooming around the yard excitedly. He frequently came to me for all-over petting and responded to sit and wait for treats. He was relaxed when returning to his kennel.

02-JUL-26 - Foster - 07/02/26 11:41 Foster Feedback
We took sweet Laveno out on Adventure Tails. He's such a sweet boy. He was unsure about the car ride and needed help getting in, but he just chilled in the back the entire time and never whined. We started our day going to Petco to pick out some treats and a new toy. He was excited as ever to go through the store!! Next we went to Alderman Ford park for a nice long walk. He was great on the leash and didn't pull. Both my 8 and 12 year old could walk him without issue. He did not react to any passing dogs. After, we went home to let him cool down in the AC and take a nice quiet nap. The entire time he was in the home he did not have an accident. He was well behaved, but does love stuffed toys, so watch out for kids stuffed animals that he might mistake as a dog toy
He enjoyed playing with the stuffed soccer ball we got him and chased it around without tearing it to sheds. We also gave him a bath, which he did great for!! His favorite part of the day may have been the doggy ice cream cups he got!!! He does have a habbit of jumping on people if you have something he wants, but was easily corrected by pushing him down and telling him to sit. He responded well to the sit command when you had something in your hand and pointed down for him to sit, but not as well without a treat in hand, so it appears he might not know the command very well. He is highly treat motivated though and likely would be very easy to train. Laveno is really a sweet dog with lots of love to give.

25-JUN-26 - Interact - 06/25/26 15:30 When approaching Laveno's kennel he was very hyper and jumping up at the kennel door. HH waiting for a second to allow all four paws on the ground before leashing him up. To distract him, DJ tossed a treat on the ground to make it a little easier to slip the leash on him. Once out of the kennel he was very attentive to the other dogs while passing by, but once we got passed the kennels, he was not paying too much attention to them. While we were walking, he kept pulling, so HH would walk backwards and once Laveno followed with slack leash we would continue towards the back yards. Once in the play yard he was sprinting all around the yard, not really interested in any of the toys at first. Once he noticed HH and DJ there he was seeking attention from both of us, allowing pets all over. Still having a lot of energy, he decided to jump on the bench and get up and down from it. Then jumped back up onto the bench and decided to jump all the way over onto the ground. While HH was petting him on the right side of his abdomen, he made a whimper, and DJ and HH assessed him and everything seemed okay. Before we left the yard, he got one of the crunchy toys and started to bite on it. HH leashed him back up to go to his kennel, and was calmer going back, and HH was able to slip the leash right off. -HH

24-JUN-26 - Interact - 06/24/26 09:59 Laveno was waiting at the kennel door with loose, jumpy body, staff waited for all four on the floor before he easily allowed the leash over his head. As soon as he was out of his kennel, he did pull as staff was trying to close his kennel door. Walking to the yard he had a gentle pull to his walk, arriving at the door to AD yards he jumped up to push the door open. Once in yard he pottied and then sniffed around. He helped himself into the pool and splashed around. Staff threw treats in the pool and he bobbed for them. Laveno chewed on some grass in the yard, and was very treat motivated, he showed off what commands he knew, sit, spin, and wait. He also listens to his recall. Laveno walked back to his kennel with a slight pull, minding no buisness to the dogs he was passing in their kennels. Allowed for easy unleashing and entered the kennel fine. RM

24-JUN-26 - Interact - As Staff approached Laveno's kennel, he was whining towards JB. When two citizens walked by, a child and mother, Laveno began to bark at the citizens but diverted his attention back to Staff. Laveno was easily leashed by Staff and had a hard pull towards the yard. Once in, Laveno relieved himself and approached Staff for pets. Laveno splashed in the pool and played fetch with Staff, returning it into Staffs hand on his own. Laveno spent the remainder of the time perched in Staffs lap until he was returned to the kennel. 24-JUN-26 - Observed - Laveno was observed while in his crate at MEGA adoption event barking, growling, and lunging when citizens stopped near his kennel or spoke to him. He was particularly reactive to men and to children. Calmer when citizens would crouch near his kennel rather than standing and leaning over him, and would take treats when offered while from a crouched position. When a peanut butter frisbee was placed on his crate, Laveno low growled with whale eye and lunged when citizens passed his crate, and bit toward a male citizen's hand when he reached for him. -NMS

20-JUN-26 - Interact - 06/20/26 16:52 When staff approached kennel, Laveno was laying on the floor in the inside portion of his kennel. Staff called him over to the outside kennel door and he ran over to staff quickly. Laveno accepted a treat that staff handed him before staff went to leash him. Staff was able to leash Laveno easily and he had a strong pull to the play yard. On the way to the yard, Laveno ignored all other dogs we passed by. Once we got to the play yard, Laveno started running around the yard and sniffing his surroundings. Laveno then went to a part of the fence where a patch of grass was growing and decided to chew on it for a bit. Laveno spent the last few minutes in the yard running laps into the kiddie pool and then running up to staff to solicit attention. Laveno sat next to staff and accepted pets all over. When staff stopped petting him, he would nudge their arm with his head so that they would pet him again. Staff went to hand Laveno a treat and he was very teeth-forward when accepting the treat so people should be careful when giving him dog treats. Staff and Laveno walked back to his kennel and he had a strong pull back. Staff had no issues getting him in the kennel and unleashing him. RP

17-JUN-26 - Interact - 06/15/26 12:31 Laveno rests a lot in kennel on his bedding, doesnt seem to show any reactivity or FAS. Allows RM to move around in the kennel with him with a loose body. Keeps his kennel clean for the most part and doesnt have accidents on the indoor portion of his kennel. RM

04-JUN-26 - Interact - 06/04/26 15:59
Laveno was lying down in front of his kennel door when staff walked up.
He immediately got up and stood with a loose body and slow wagging tail (neutral height).
As the leash was presented, Laveno began to jump and whine.
He was easy to leash and bursted out of the kennel with a strong pull that did not let up all the way to the yard.
Once in the yard, Laveno mostly kept to himself.
He did not actively seek out attention but responded fairly well to summons.
Laveno appeared to understand "sit".
He had a slight tendency to lead with his teeth when accepting treats.
On the return trip, Laveno pressed up to multiple kennels while walking by.
He did not seem to initiate conflict, but several dogs barked and lunged at him.
Releasing Laveno back to his kennel was done so without difficulty.
