PEANUT ‼️ RESCUE NEEDED #A2090363 Male 2 years old 65lbs

Rescue Plea
This gorgeous doggy was brought in as a stray from Pahokee. Peanut Brittle is a very scared boy that takes some time to get more comfortable with people. He likes to stay in his kennel and it's hard to get him to walk outside, possibly because the other dogs may be scaring him. He is currently under assessment for his behavior. A behavior team member has been working closely with him and slowly trying to build trust. She approached his kennel and he appeared fearful with wide eyes and a tense body, but with no signs of aggression. He was timid throughout the encounter but eventually took some treats from her hand.

A few days later, she was able to walk Peanut Brittle to the patio and he began to trust her more! When called, he became excited with a loose/wiggly body and tail, but cowered and moved away when she tried to reach for him. The next day was a huge moment of progress as he became very affectionate and playful with her. She was able to get him to walk out of the kennel and to the tiki hut at ACC, where he was fearful and alert of all the noises. He did well walking back to his kennel.

PB is in Need of Rescue while his behavior is still being assessed for potential dog aggression/fearfulness, and he has also come down with CIRD. He's a sweet and nervous boy who needs an owner that can spend extra time with him to be more comfortable in new environments.
