About walker: Walker ACCT-A-107327 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to behavioral concerns. Walker must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER by Saturday, February 26th at 10:00am. Should Walker's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Walker is a 4 year old medium sized boy who was found as a stray on 1/22 and was fearful on arrival. Since arriving in our care, he has become more stressed and has had a hard time adjusting. At the beginning, he responded well to treats and would even sit when asked. However, he did not allow much physical handling and during his evaluation he was very alert to being touched and kept moving away, indicating he was uncomfortable. Recently, he has now determined he loves the outside so much, that he doesn't want to go back into his kennel, and will begin to snap at his leash when he comes back inside, and therefore is double leashed when his kennel is cleaned. When staff take Walker out for walks or cleaning he must be double leashed for safety as he will leash bite, react to other dogs, and attempt to redirect onto his handler on the way back to kennel. In a recent incident Walker grabbed a volunteers sleeve of their coat and would not let go. He only released hold once a blue leash was placed over him and he redirected and grabbed onto that. It then took three kennel attendants to lift him into his kennel and he did not release hold on leash. His anxiety is escalating and he very much needs to find a rescue that is foster based and has an experienced foster who will give him the time he needs to decompress. Confirmed placement is considered an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent.
