This pup immediately started barking, growling, and lunging at me when I approached the kennel. She gave me a hard stare and would
bear her teeth at me between barks and growls. I approached before the 4 dogs had been separated into groups of 2, and this pup
seemed to be egging everyone else on. She would also lash out when her kennelmates were barking too close to her and she would
snap at them and bite at their muzzles. Once separated, she continued to bark and growl at me as I stood outside the kennel. She did
not stop until I had been standing there for a few minutes. Based on the behavior of the other dogs she came in with, I assumed the
barking/growling was more of a defense mechanism than 'I'm going to bite you,' but to be safe I used the fake hand. She allowed the
fake hand to touch her; however, she was very uncomfortable and running away from it while being pet. At this point, I entered the kennel
and sat down across from this pup while she cowered in the corner. She would only eat treats off the ground but would not leave her
corner to get them. She did not show any signs of resource guarding towards her kennelmate as they both ate treats off the ground. She
would not approach me but stayed focused on me while I was in the kennel. A tall male kennel attendent attested to her behaving
similarly with him and she has not shown any signs of true aggression towards men. This pup needs a calm and quiet place to
decompress.
