About funyun: Funyun is eligible for our current rescue incentive, in which all dogs over 40lbs who are tagged by rescue come with a $1000 rescue incentive thanks to an anonymous donor ** Funyun ACCT-A-119684 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to behavioral concerns. Funyun must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER or RESCUE PARTNER by SATURDAY, August 20th by 10:00am. Should Funyun's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Funyun is a young medium sized boy who was found as a stray on the 6th. When coming into the shelter Funyun was noted to be super sweet, affectionate, and social with multiple people. The ACA handling him said that he , "will sit quietly with you and give you kisses. Funyun was a but shy once placed in a kennel, but over the next few days learned to trust staff and volunteers and quickly figured out that the leash equals time outside! Funyun showed us what a fun, goofy guy he can be. Funyun does get aroused with handling at times. He solicits attention from handlers and is very lovable. Funyun is still very puppy-like and can get mouthy or jumpy at times though. Due to this he is looking for a home with no children or children aged 10+. Funyun is a very smart boy who is eager to please and loves learning new tricks for a snack in return. Shelter life can be stressful though and Funyun is over it and ready for a home. Funyun has begun to show signs of deterioration and kennel stress. We would love to see him go into a home environment where he can decompress, as he is at risk for further deterioration here. Funyun has been panting heavily in his kennel, smearing feces, and is leash biting with escalation. On 8/15 an ACA was removing Funyun from kennel and he began to leash bite, snapping near her hands. Usually a rope toy or treats has been enough to deter Funyun was continuing to leash bite, but recently he has been harder to redirect. During this incident Funyun would not de escalate and began to snap near his handler's hands, climbing the leash, and then eventually had to be double lashed. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent.
