About maggie: Maggie ACCT-A-112427 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to behavioral concerns. Maggie must have confirmed placement with an EXPERIENCED ADOPTER or RESCUE PARTNER by Friday, October 28th by 10:00 am. Should Maggie's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Maggie is a beautiful 2 year old girl who came to ACCT originally as a stray back in April. She was very friendly and energetic while in our care and was quickly adopted out, but returned a few days later due to landlord issues. Maggie was again, adopted quickly due to her amazing personality and has been in her adoptive home since May, but returned on October 25th. While in the adoptive home the owner said that Maggie has been nothing but wonderful. He expressed that she is a very social and sweet dog who has done amazing with the young kids in the home as well. Maggie did not resource guard any items (food, toys, etc) with her owners or the kids, but would guard food around the other dog and cats in the home. The owner said that Maggie will guard food if the other animals approach her while eating and unfortunately on the 24th the cat and dog both approached Maggie's food bowl and she snapped at them both. She bit the dog, barely breaking skin on him but did grab the cat and bit him multiple times. The cat is stable and alive, but she did cause injuries. When the owner separated the fight Maggie never attempted to redirect onto the owner or anything. The owner said that Maggie has been great with the animals every other time unless food is involved. Since being back in our care Maggie has been friendly and wiggly with all staff, soliciting attention from whoever she can! Maggie urgently needs to be placed with a rescue partner or an experienced adopter with no other pets in the home. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/IeT4HOgSqSw Confirmed placement is considered confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent.
