💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 #1 Rex is super calm and gentle. He has sweet timidness about him that's more like a cautious approach. Easy to leash, walks super loose on the leash, and will take treats very gently. His ears look like a botch job and unfortunately, as volunteers, we see this all the time. Whatever the case, Rex is still so very handsome, and his personality is AMAZING!!! He will do so well in a quiet environment as he does take things very cautiously. I could totally see Rex doing well with a family with older kids. He is HW-.
#2 Rex was the best boy of the day! He?s listed as 3, but I think he?s older. His face looks frosty. ☹️ He was curled up on his bed quietly, and leashed/walked easy. He was so calm and mellow the whole time I had him out. He never once showed aggression towards other dogs. On his temp test he was stiff, and really could?ve cared less. I do think he?d do better with dogs who match his mellow energy. He never even barked. He sat on command and is heartworm negative, so I wonder if his family is missing him. I noticed a few tiny skin tags on his belly. He was a bit shy at first but quickly warmed up with treats. Not much to say about this boy. He?s pretty perfect. If you are looking for a low energy dog, check out Rex!
#3 Rex is a big ol' softie who is super curious, a little cautious, and sweet as can be. We hope he has a bright future ahead with the right family! 🥰
📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 🌟PLEA NOTES: Rex was picked up loose in a citizen?s yard on 1-3-23. Rex is heartworm negative and has no other medical conditions noted. Rex has been shy but friendly with staff. INTAKE 1/3 - 1 stray dog aggressive at front porch/yard area and growling at residents not her dog. 1/10 Slowly walks on the leash as he presents neutral body, low tail and soft close mouth. Kennel is half covered as he remains calm and quiet in kennel.
1/14 Greeted me at the front of the kennel as he presented neutral body, soft close mouth and low tail. Walked on a loose leash, once coming back to his kennel he froze by the door, had scoot him back in his cage, did not respond treats. 1/16 Rex greets at the front of the kennel as he held neutral body, neutral tail and soft close mouth when approaching kennel. Easily able to leash and walked him back into his kennel as he accepted treats when offered.
1/21 Offered treats when first approaching and Rex gently takes. Rex is easily able to leash, very gentle when walking on leash, remains with a loose body, swaying tail and soft close mouth.
