💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 Knight A1860634 - the ACT working the adoptions building told me Knight was a sweet guy but he was immediately forward barking in a very defensive position (crouched down, head up, eyes wide and ears tucked back). He?d bark at me, stop only yo grab the treats I offered, then go back to barking. When I opened his kennel door, he had his back to me so I was able to sneak a few photos before he realized I was theoretically in his space and he started giving me low growls. He never moved at me when the door was open but today was definitely not his day.
📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮 This dog was picked up loose in a citizen?s yard. He has been fearful with shelter staff but on the positive side, he is heartworm negative. he does have a wound on his left side. Please let us know if you can help him, he will be available on 1-20-23. 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 3 aggrs stry dogs in frnt yard and tried to attack caller's daughter/ will not leave/kids afraid/ 1 is in heat and now they are stuck together
1/18 Sitting in kennel, lowered head and pressed head against wall to avoid leash. Used both hands to get leash on. Once leashed walked with loose leash, head and tail low. Once in new kennel scratched forehead while I pulled leash off, dropped treats on ground and shut door.
1/22 Was a move adopt to NB today. Approaching run he is sitting at the gate waiting patiently. I offer a meaty treat thought the gate and he accepts with a careful mouth. I open the gate slightly and attempt to leash and he avoids the leash I get low and allow him to smell my hand while again offering another treat and try to leash and he allows me. Walks on a loose leash but walks as though he is trying to run away from me. I began to offer treats and it seems to help to distract. Walked into kennel with no issues. Quiet throughout the day.
