About big mac: 9/5 Stray / Neutered Male / Lab Mix / 4Y / 53.4lbs / HW-
9/16 Approaching kennel, Big Mac was being vocal with loose body and wagging tail. He had front paws on kennel door, so I tossed treats to get him on all four. He ignored them, so I then squatted and baby talked him which got him on all four. I was able to easily leash then. Walked loosely into the runs. Occasionally would try to jump on me.
9/15 Quietly lying on bed with head on front paws throughout cleaning, got up and stood still while I leashed and walked with loose leash next to me; only occasionally got the edge of his cone stuck on walls/doorframes and would stop walking until I adjusted his cone, then continued walking with loose leash. Back inside his kennel he napped as I walked other dogs past his kennel. I tossed treats inside and they landed on his back, but he did not move and the treats remained in same spot, but then had eaten them by the end of cleaning when I looked into his kennel again.
9/10 Big Mac stays at the front of the kennel all day, he starts vocalizing whenever im just standing in front of his kennel waiting to be walked. he walks well on loose leash, but when taking the leash off of him, he keeps a watch on my hands, to keep him distracted i give him treats, which he does take.
9/17 Big Mac is vocal in his kennel during cleaning. When leashed and removed from the kennel, he walks with a soft body and loose tail. He eats treats on his way out of the building and continues walking with a relaxed body. He is less vocal outside in the runs.
Cone replacement :
Big Mac's E-collar fell off during cleaning so I cleaned it and set it to the side. I walked into his kennel and began to fit the collar around his neck. He moved close to the door, pressing the side of his body against the kennel door, and became stiff.
He began licking his lips quickly and dilating his pupils. I requested assistance from one of the Vet Techs. I distracted and restrained Big Mac while the tech secured the clips on the collar. I rewarded Big Mac with treats on his bedding. He turned to eat them after we closed his kennel door.
