𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 The first time I met Edith, I went to walk her, but she wouldn't leave the ward. I took a cute pic of her in her kennel and decided to give her some space. A few days later, I was back at BARC and she caught my eye again. I decided to try again with leashing her. She leashed so easily and walked SO well on the leash compared to the last time. She ever so slightly hesitated at the doorway of the ward, but then quickly gained the courage she needed and walked outside with confidence! I was so proud of her. We went to a run where she was still shy, but gave me kisses and approached for treats. I really like this sweet gal. From her shelter notes, I'd say she has improved a ton from when she first arrived!
𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 3/30: As I approach the kennel she lays low to he ground and cowers close to the wall. she lets me put the leash on her but when we start walking she freezes in fear making it very difficult to get her out. 4/5: Approaching kennel, Edith has tense body language. I opened the kennel leashing her and she tmidly walked out. She slowly walked past the cleaner using the hose with her head down and crouching. When exiting the door or South A she began to pancake on the ground. I carried her to the exit door and she slowly began to walk from there. She walked loosely as I went and placed her in a run. 4/4: Neutral body language when approaching runs. I opened the run door leashng her and she walked out. She walked loosely as I walked her to South. When reaching the entrance door, her body began to tense and she lowered her head resisting walking inside. I baby talked her and her head perked up a little. She slowly walked into the door but pancaked afterwards not wanting to walk. I carried her to the entrace of South A and she continued to walk from there. 4/12: Edith stands at the front of kennel with a loose wiggly body and tail, soft open mouth. When leashed she slowly walks out of kennel with a relaxed body when approaching the door she starts to pull away and then pancake to the ground. Used baby talk and treats to get her to get up but still didn't want to walk past the doorway. Tethered her to the wall while kennel was being cleaned, once kennel cleaned she went right in and laid down on her bed.
