Notes indicate that is quiet in his kennel. He greets staff with a wagging tail and he is easy to leash! He play bows in the runs with neighboring dogs and he takes treats gently. It was noted that he sometimes directs his attention toward other dogs in the shelter environment and that he can sometimes be redirected with treats. He would benefit from a good, safe, committed home where he will get the love and attention he needs and so deserves. 𝐙𝐄𝐔𝐒 is now on the euthanasia list for "Behavior: Tense body, high stiff tail, pulling forward on a tight leash. Hackles up, lunging and growling towards another male dog nearby." His life should not end for the reasons given." 📝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: 02/26/2025 INTAKE: owners dog was running loose and attacked HPD Officer Rocks K-9 while serving a warrant next door to the dog owners house 1 year old Orange and white boxer/pit 3/4/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Zeus presented a tense body, high stiff tail and tight close mouth. Walking Zeus out to the dog run, he was pulling forward on the leash, kept redirecting towards other dogs that where walking by, hackles up, high stiff tail. I also tossed treats to redirect him away from the other dogs but he was ignoring them. 3/5/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: quiet in kennel, easy to leash walks on a loose leash, play bows at neighboring dog and takes treats from hand with soft mouth. 3/6/25BEHAVIOR NOTE: 03/06/25 12:43 Licking snout, wagging tail when approached. When walking out to runs another dog was growling and hard staring at Zeus. Zeus held hackles raised, stiff flag tail, avoiding eye contact and ignored other dog. 03/07/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: 03/07/25 11:28 While placing Zeus in outside run began lunging, growling with hackles raised at another male dog in neighboring run that was growling at him. Able to redirect both away from each other with treats. Once distracted and unleashed both dogs ignored each other. Walked back inside with very tight leash pulling with chest close to ground, walked into row and pulled into his kennel, sat on the bed for treats.
