This cute fella is sadly now on the euthanasia list for "Medical (Heartworms), Behavior (stressed, alarm barking in kennel, jumping on kennel door, very vocal towards customers walking through, kennel cover and enrichment is not helping behavior, climbed out and up of kennel after covering kennel)." 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐄𝐑 now needs a new committed family of his own or a foster family who will give him the love, care, security, healing, and the attention that he so deserves and the chance to live a long, good life. He is a rescue only. 📝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: 4/21/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Tense body language in kennel. I opened the kennel leashing him and he walked out the kennel. He walked loosely at first but began to tense up and pull back on the kennel as I walked him towards the next kennel. I began to baby talk him and he took a few steps before stopping again. I guided his body the rest of the way to the kennel. 4/23/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Approaching kennel i tossed chicken and he ate off floor wagging his tail. Dog walked loosly to outside and back to kennel taking treats. 4/24/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Walter was a move adopt this morning, easily able to be leash, when I placed in run a second time he began to pancake on the ground and pulling back on leash, did not take treats meaty or kibble. 4/25/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Walter presented a timid demeanor, keeping a crouchy body, semi tucked tail, and a worried face. he walked on a loose leash to the runs. as he was in the runs, he was smelling other dogs through the fence with a wagging tail. whenever i took him inside, he was more relaxed, his body was neutral, tail was wagging and he has a soft facial expression. 4/26/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: During AM walking, Walter was alarm barking. When I approached his kennel, he had a relaxed body. He walked on a loose leash with his tail low and swaying, stopping occasionally. When walking back inside, he had a high sweeping tail and kept a loose leash. While I was cleaning the opposite side of the row, he was jumping on the kennel door. While customers were walking through, Walter was very vocal despite his kennel being covered and having extra enrichment. 04/26/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: 04/26/25 15:06 Walter was found on top of the kennels in C Row.
