This stunning guy is now on the euthanasia list for " Heartworms; Behavior (Continuous behavior notes of dog high pitch vocalizing even when kennel is covered.)." The shelter will help with heartworm medication if he is adopted through them. 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐄 needs a new, committed family of his own or a foster family who will give him the love, care, healing, and the chance to live out his life. 📝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: 4/25/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Friendly and wiggly. Walked well on the leash. 4/29/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Move adopt: when I approached to the runs Fred was vocalizing so I tossed treats to leash him up. He walks with loose leash and takes the soft treats. In the kennel he has been barking and vocalizing so I give him extra enrichment and I put a blanket in the kennel's door. 4/29/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: noticed a dog wa vocalizing throughout the day. He was covered and stood at front of kennel barking with head in the air. Offered enrichment and it did not help. 4/30/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: noticed a dog wa vocalizing throughout the day. He was covered and stood at front of kennel barking with head in the air. Offered enrichment and it did not help. 5/3/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: When I approached his kennel, Fred had a tense wiggly body. I leashed him and he walked on a semi-loose leash following the treats I was throwing down for him. While outside he was vocal in the run. He walked back inside with a hgih wagging tail and wiggly body on a loose leash. He was vocal in his kennel throughout the day even with the kennel covered. 5/4/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Fred Astaire walks in a semi-loose leash, will take treats when toss in front of him. In the kennel he is non-stop vocalizing. 5/6/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Fred has been barking front his door, so I tossed treats to leash him up.
