Hagrid (A2012617) is just a 1-year-old American Staffordshire mix?barely more than a puppy?and his life is in jeopardy.
Hagrid is struggling in the shelter. He?s scared, overstimulated, and showing signs of stress. Volunteers reported that when they tried to leash him, he nearly bolted from his kennel?not out of aggression, but desperation. He pulled toward other dogs, barked, and when redirected, he snapped?a cry for help from a young dog who doesn?t know how to cope in this overwhelming place.
Hagrid?s skin shows the toll of stress and neglect too?patches of hair loss, pustules on his head, and dry, flaky skin. But these are treatable. His tests are otherwise normal, and with the right care and environment, Hagrid can begin to heal?body and soul.
