05/17/2025 Playgroup notes: Townsend was steerable at the gate and very excited to go into the yard. He was timid but very social and spent most of his time sniffing around. He greeted the dogs with tail wags and a neutral body. after greeting all his friends, he walked around the yard, exploring on his own.
05/07/2025 Staff noted: Approached the kennel and he was laying down. He got up and came over with a middle tail, not wagging, ears back and squinty eyes. He was easy to leash and walked on a loose leash outside unless he saw another dog. He was stoic and intolerant for body handling, with tail down, not wagging, stood like a statue as I touched him all over, ears back, squinty eyes, mouth closed. When I stopped, touching him, he did not solicit any attention. No interest in play. We walked by another large dog, and he fixated and pulled towards the dog. He remained quiet and with some moderate leash pressure he eventually did begin to easily walk forward again. He had no reaction to the dogs, barking at him down the run and was easy to return the kennel and take off the leash.
05/06/2025 ? Townsend came down with an upper respiratory infection and was started on Doxycycline.
05/05/2025 ? During an exam for Townsend's skin and ear issues, it was noted that he had healing wounds primarily on the right side of his face and right ear (pinna). There was a ~2cm partial-thickness healing laceration below the ear that was crusted over, along with several smaller partial-thickness wounds surrounding it. His ears had mild to moderate brown-tan debris and mild inflammation, more pronounced in the right ear. Additional healing, scabbed-over wounds were observed on the pinnae. Hair thinning, minor crusting, and scaling were noted over the caudal dorsum and proximal tail, with the underlying skin mildly erythematous. Townsend appeared slightly pruritic (itchy) when petted in those areas. These signs were suggestive of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) or another allergic skin condition. Mild otitis externa was diagnosed in both ears (AU). Overall in good condition, with mild tartar on the cheek teeth and some gum recession over the incisors, but all teeth were well attached and not loose. Throughout the exam, Townsend was friendly, easy to handle, and showed no reactivity.
05/02/2025 ? During an exam, it was noted that Townsend was bright, alert, responsive and friendly. His right ear was swollen with possible hematoma, scratches on the outside, dirty in both ears. He has hair loss on lower back and tail, itchy. Yellow teeth, moist pink mm
Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and cats and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately.
Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging a dog or cat.
Confirmed placement is considered confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent.
