We weren't able to meet Alphelion. If you can help us meet the animals at BARC let us know.
📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Aphelion greets me at the kennel door with a fast wagging tail and by jumping up on the kennel door. He lets me leash him and walks in a zig zags to and from the potty yard. Inside his potty yard he can be heard alarm barking till I got him to bring him back to his kennel. Inside his kennel he can be seen standing by the kennel door waiting for interaction.
Move Adopt: Approaching run, Aphelion is vocalizing and pawing at the front of the run with an open mouth pant. As I attempted to leash and offer treats, dog ignored and kept jumping and wiggling making it difficult. After a few tries, dog
walked out holding a semi-forward leash and would redirect back at me jumping on me until I placed him in the shower room. While in there, dog kept vocalizing until I leashed him to place him in his clean kennel. Gave dog extra enrichment to keep him busy.
Relaxed body language approaching kennel. I opened the kennel leashing him and he walked loosely as I took him outside and placed him in a run. He was calm in runs walking around and looking at scenery.
Standing in outside part of kennel as I approached he ran inside, jumped onto the kennel door. I baby talked to him as he got on all fours. once leashed he bolted out of the kennel ignoring treats being tossed, I stood in place for a while but he continued to pull on leash held a very tight leash. I placed back into kennel due to how strong he was pulling on leash.
