About sandler: My name is Sandler. I am described as a neutered male, brown and white Bully breed. The shelter staff think I am about 2 years. I have been at the shelter since Aug 14, 2018. I came in with a chip or tag. My predicted rescue date was Aug 21, 2018 but the date could have changed. Please contact CACC if you are interested in rescuing me.

***In 2017 Chicago Animal Care and Control took in 7,224 dogs and 1,295 of them were killed. The listings on this site are maintained by volunteers, not shelter staff. Due to the volume of animals received each day, delays may occur in updating the list of dogs. All dogs are listed for this shelter with estimated due out dates based on the average stay in the shelter, and extended if the dog is still available. This dog's status can change at any moment. Act quickly if you are interested in adopting. For information on adopting from CACC visit their website https://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/cacc/provdrs/care/svcs/adoption.html

If a dog is designated RESCUE ONLY -- Rescue Only dogs are not on the adoption floor. They are available to approved Homeward Bound rescues only. Dogs are rescue only for several reasons: they are waiting to be evaluated for the adoption floor, they have a medical issue, or they may need additional behavior training that CACC cannot provide, but rescues who pull from CACC can. If you are interested in a dog who is marked 'Rescue Only' please contact one of the approved rescue groups to let them know of your interest. You'll need to fill out an application with one of these rescue groups. Once approved you can foster and save a life. Approval or denial is solely the decision of the rescue. Please DO NOT call Chicago ACC regarding Rescue Only dogs.

Adoption should be a well thought out decision. It's a lifetime commitment.
