A volunteer writes: This oh so handsome big boy has been with us before and I?m sad to see him back. Surrendered again by his owner as it seems that Charlie and the other resident dogs squabble over toys and food, Charlie is a big affable guy who although friendly is distracted as of this writing. Thrilled to be out for a walk to go potty ( he?s house trained as advised by his former owner) he pulled hard on the leash but we?re told he only does that when excited, so his new person will need to decide whether a harness and/or some leash training is needed. Charlie has lived with kids and other dogs, and while he doesn?t mind when people touch his things, he prefers to keep them safe from other animals. Charlie enjoys baths and being brushed, is friendly with strangers, and loves playing fetch with his person. Charlie is looking for a home where he will be loved for the great dog he is. At intake, he play bowed to staff showing everyone what a fun and fabulous dog he is. Charlie will need some time to decompress in his new home but he?s a proven people dog who just need the right people to love and cherish him. Are you going to be the lucky person to make him a part of your family?

05/10/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Charlie has lived with a 6 year old, and while he loves to play, may not always realize how big he is! He?s very housetrained, described as friendly, affectionate and playful, and fetch is his favorite game. I found out that his guilty pleasure is a good old fashioned butt scratch, and you have to laugh at this big bruiser of a boy who turns to putty with a good rub! Charlie indeed showed off his housetraining skills the moment we were out the door, and we?re told only pulls on the leash when he?s excited. Charlie has been gorgeously taken care of, his weight perfect for his size, his coat lush and clean, and he?s friendly and social. We?re also told that he doesn?t mind when people touch his toys or food, but will snap at other animals who do. He loves baths and being brushed. A friendly boy with lively energy, Charlie is looking for a home in which he can be king of his castle. With his fun, friendly and living large personality his motto is be all you can be. You?ll enjoy time with Charlie ? come meet him and you?ll see.
