Medical Behavior Evaluation - BLUE

Medical Summary 01/15/17; Brought in as stray - unknown history. QAR, nervous but allowed examination. Muzzled as precaution. Walks in crouched posture with hunched back and weak hind limbs. CPs intact. No overt/external injuries. Stiff on flexion/extension of hips with crepitus bilaterally. Mild crepitus at stifles with very subtle cranial drawer present at right stifle. Stiff epaxial muscles, flinches some on spinal palpation throughout. Dirty, unkempt coat with excessive shedding throughout. Patch of hair regrowth at caudal dorsum. H/L: auscult normally EENT: Muzzled, no oral exam. Ears tender when canal examined - excess brown debris AU. Small (blueberry-sized) pedunculated growth in outer canal AS. NND. Eyes clear OU. 2 testes down - Right testicle moderately enlarged and firm on palpation; left testicle comparatively smaller and much softer. Rectal NP A; Senior M Husky 1. Hind limb paresis - r/o OA vs LS vs IVDD vs other 2. Suspect OA at hips, spine, stifles (generalized) - possible partial CCL tear at right stifle 3. Otitis externa AU 4. Unkempt coat 5. Testicular irregularity - possible neoplasia vs hypertrophy vs other P: Reco placement for full geriatric work up and support/multi-modal pain management of joint disease. Reco full labwork - able to obtain. Chemistry panel at BACC (pending). Reco neuter. Reco grooming. Clean ears. AU Tresaderm AU BID x 5 days Rx Rimadyl 50 mg PO BID x 5 days ? consider long-term pending response Rest; reco extra bedding **Addendum** ALP: 445 (elevated - 23-212) Rest of Chemistry WNL (including all liver/kidney values) Reco continue above plan with Rimadyl. Reco monitor liver values if NSAID use remains long-term.
