DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT: Summary PLAYGROUP: Summary MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 2/25/17 ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Broly so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide and seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced adopter, adult only home No children (under 13): Due to Brolys bite history, the circumstances and severity of which are unknown, we feel that an adult only home would be most beneficial at this time out of caution. Potential challenges: Resource guarding (Potential resource guarding was noted on Brolys assessment when he became stiff when in possession of the toy. For this reason we advise against ever removing items from Brolys possession without safely trading for an item or greater or equal value. Guidance from a professional trainer/behaviorist is highly recommended to aid in safely managing/modifying this behavior in a new home environment.) Fearful/potential for defensive aggression (Broly bit his owner in his previous home, the circumstances and severity of which are unknown. It is important to listen to any warning sign Broly may give that he is uncomfortable, such as becoming tense or growling, and to stop interacting with him immediately if these things occur. Positive reinforcement, reward based training is recommended with any issues that may arise with Broly.)
