04/06/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: So handsome with runway model elegant legs and slender torso, Conklin is ready for a walk and a chance to potty. He pulls on the leash in his happiness to be out, wants to meet every dog we pass, and feels its his personal mission to chase the birds in our path. Conklin wags his tail when I talk to him, his eyes sparkle, and as he explored our backyard pen I could really admire his shining coat and good looks. Conklin sits when asked, takes treats gently and posed for photos like a model, rocking a bow tie and looking incredibly dapper! Conklin has a fabulous sparkling smile (showing off great white teeth), and when he turns that smile on the whole world smiles with him! Conklin is ready to find a new person with whom to share long walks and a happily ever after. Come meet him today.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 03/27/2017 from NY 11236, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K17092265.

They may dislike certain types of dogs or styles of dog play so they may require extra supervision when interacting with other dogs. PLAYGROUP: Conklin has engaged playfully with female dogs in the care center. He has often been observed to mount other dogs during interaction. Conklin may be selective when engaging with dogs and has stiffened and growled when attempting to introduce him to other male dogs. These introductions were not conducted further.
The behavior department recommends slow introductions between Conklin and social or tolerant female resident dogs. We recommend future introductions be conducted on a one on one basis. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 3/27/17 During his initial medical exam, Conklin was tense.
