PROFILE:

Basic Information: Jean is 10 years old unaltered female American pit-bull mix. Owner had her for 10 years and received her as a gift when she was 6 months old. Owner stated Jean is healthy and doesn?t have any health concerns at this time. Owner surrendered Jean due to allergies and increase behavior in the home.
Social Life and Personality: Jean lived with three adults and been around children ages 2 months, 2 years, 7 years and 11 year of age. Owner stated Jean is friendly towards everyone in the household and with strangers who visits the home. When it comes to children she doesn?t interact or play with them. She allows them to touch her but when they overly touch her on the ears or face she will show teeth. Jean lived with another dog and was respectful ad tolerant towards the other dog in the home. When it came to dogs outdoors on walks on a leash Jean will sniff, get stiff body and lunge owner stated. It was mention that Jean cannot be around cats because she will chase after them which happened once at a family member?s house.
Behavior: Jean has never bitten or scratched a person or animal owner stated. She has a habit of climbing on top of counters and eating any food or snacks that are in her sight. She will often urinate on one specific rug that?s in his mother room. She isn?t bothered by storms or fireworks or any loud sound owner stated. Owner stated she allows the adults in the house to touch her food bowl but unsure if anyone else can do so. She isn?t bothered by taking baths and being brushed. She will bark and unfamiliar knocks on the door to alert owner.
For a New Family to Know: Jean is mostly trained to use the bathroom outdoors but will use the bathroom indoors if in crate all day. She is trained to use the bathroom on leash twice a day when time allows it. She eats dry food called Blue Buffalo twice a day. She knows commands such as sit, stay and plays with balls and ropes. She will follow owner around the house and activity level is to a medium. Owner suggests Jean goes to a home with no children or other animals she hasn?t met in a home environment.
Intake Behavior: Upon intake Jean was calm and attentive to every movement and sound. She will look around and sniff. She scanned negative for a microchip and allowed handling with treats.
