💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

I was unable to take Sugar Ray out because his back leg is injured. When I opened his kennel door he was incredibly sweet. He really wanted to come out but I can tell his leg was bothering him. He took treats gently and loved pets. I?m sure once he receives proper treatment for his leg he would be a wonderful pup.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: none

🚑𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
QAR, sitting neutral in kennel. Food trough filled with dry kibble, water bowl still topped off.
Leashed with ease and walked out to the grass. Urinated and defecated on
leash. BM was semi-solid with traces of blood. When returned to his kennel, wet
food, in a bowl with medication, was offered by treatment technician. Dog
immediately ate the food until the bowl was empty.
7/10/25
S/O: AEO brought in injured stray. AEO reported that dog was limping on a
hindlimb. Behavior was reported friendly in field but was tranq'd to be able to lift onto the truck.
- upon intake, dog was still mostly affected by tranq and was unable to evaluate standing/walking.
A: fractured right femur
P: radiographs were obtained while tranq'd. short oblique fracture of mid right
femur.
- carprofen 125mg SID x 10 days
- gabapentin 600mg BID x 10 days
- buprenorphine inj 2cc BID x 3 days; given upon intake
- place in critical care. if dog is unable to walk and pain is unmanagable then can emergency plea with early release. if no interest from rescue or dog is too severe then humane PTS before stray hold. rescue plea. no rolls/extensions due to
severity of injury.
Dog was found on Telephone road. His rear right leg was dangling. Per AEO dog
was limping in the field and able to hold himself up and walk on three legs.
Radiographs done. On Afterhours for photo.
Administered 2.1mls Bupi and 3mls Cerenia.
