💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Ernie is such a sweet guy waiting so patiently in his kennel to be let out. I walked by him and then came back and had to see what he was like. He walked beautifully on leash and didn?t care for any dog passing by when walking.
We were outside hanging out and I stepped out the kennel to talk to a technician and he jumped on the fence and did a very loud cry and scream then we found out he had a huge gnarly wound on his paw. They took him in to get it stitched up.
Meanwhile our time outside was amazing, he wouldn?t leave my side and loved every single treat I gave him. He let me dress him up and even posed for the picture. He?s very curious and ended up on top of the table just hanging with me. He?s a big goofy guy and because of his paw, I wasn?t able to get a tt with another dog.

E/D appropriately. Had large amount of stool in kennel from overnight. Taken outside and he urinated. Very friendly and easy to handle.

BAR, friendly. Feces present in kennel, along with empty food and water bowls.
Leash walked to the grass in the front of the building. Dog defecated twice and
urinated once. He became playful and active on our return back to the kennel.
Spot cleaned kennel, changed bedding, and provided dry kibble. I topped the water bowl while he ate.
QAR, laying at front of the kennel, on bedding. No feces or urine present. Leash
walked out to the grass and urinated/defecated immediately. Returned to kennel
and offered dry kibble.
07/19/25 15:30 sedated for laceration on paw. LF paw carpal pad has 1 inch
semicircular laceration on metacarpal pad. wound deep enough to see the
ligaments. suture removal in 10 days, 4 sutures were placed
S/O: Sedated for laceration on paw with dexdormitor and Torb. LF paw
metacarpal pad has 1 inch semicircular laceration on the pad.
A: Laceration Repair
P: The wound was cleaned with Chlorohexidine scrub and flushed with Saline.
The granulation tissue was freshened and then using 3/0 PDS we closed the SQ
space then the skin layer. A small bandage was placed to keep pressure on the
incision and keep clean overnight. The plan is to keep pt in sx over night to keep
the bandage dry then switch to 'HPD' cage to have the techs keep closure eye
on his wound. Send a plea for pt since he has a good personality with people.
Best for him to be kennel confined for the ten days and the wound needs to be
kept dry.
🚨Notes from BARC: Medical (Sedated for laceration on paw with dexdormitor and Torb. LF paw metacarpal pad has 1 inch semicircular laceration on the pad.)
