Zola was all waggy tails and tippy taps for me when I approached her kennel. She took treats gently through the bars and was easy to leash. She is estimated to be 7YO but she sure doesn?t act like it. She was excited on the leash and pulled a bit but she really had to find the perfect spot for a long tinkle so she might be potty trained. She is treat motivated and sat and waited for them without me even asking! She let me dress her up in silly hats club and she never stopped smiling! She walked down the row of dogs calmer on the leash now that she did her business and gave polite sniffs down the row but was definitely more interested in treats! When I got on her level she enjoyed lots of pets. She?s a happy fun loving girl with a little weight on her and I love her elongated Bull Terrier mix head. Zola was great!

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
7/18/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Approaching kennel, Zola came to me with squinty eyes and a wagging tail as I babytalk to her. She maintained a semi-forward leash taking treats half of the time but would redirect her attention towards me when babytalking to her.
7/17/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Relaxed body language in kennel. Walks loosely on lead.
7/26/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: When I approached her kennel, Zola greeted me with a wiggly body. I leashed her and she walked on a semi-tight leash to the outside runs, but she responded well to treats, especially chicken. A volunteer helped me bring Zola back inside, but Zola was very overstimulated, jumping on the volunteer. Zola almost got loose because the volunteer was having trouble leashing her with all the jumping. I helped the volunteer get Zola back in the run so she could leash her without worry of her running away. In the process, Zola came nose to nose with the dog I was walking and was very friendly with her. Once Zola was leashed, she walked on a tight leash back inside.
7/25/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE:
Zola walked with a forward leash to and from an outside run and became vocal when left in a run. Passing kennel, she was laying against the door with her head down between her front paws. Later, she was playing with her plush toy.
7/24/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE:
high pitch barking and whinnying in kennel. jumping up onto kennel door. leashed and walked on a semi loose leash to runs.
7/22/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE:
Zola greets me at the front of the kennel when I'm approaching the kennel door. Zola semi-pull on the leash but once I toss treats in front of her, she will redirect herself. Zola presents a relax body, squinty eyes and soft face. Zola is mostly quiet in the kennel and i will find her laying on her bed.
7/30/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Approaching kennel, Zola came to me with a wagging tail, low ears, and open mouth as I babytalk to her. Dog held a
semi-forward leash but would redirect back towards me occasionally when using babytalk. Held a much more loose leash after going potty and on the way back to her kennel.
