Evaluation Notes:
Dog displays sociability by approaching me at the barrier with a loose body, wagging tail and is easy to leash and walk outside.
He jumps onto me outside while whining and retreats back to the door multiple times seemingly to walk back inside. He is easy
to return to his kennel.

patient examined by dr johnson, exhibiting tip of tail injury, patient is circling and attacking tail, occasionally will redirect and attack
thighs, r/o pain/referred pain vs trauma vs behavioral
dr johnson initiated antibiotics/analgesics
monitor response, may need tail amputation
e-collar on to prevent continued self-mutilation due to pain

recheck- tail wound fully healed- no tail amputation indicated at this time, patient is currently not self-mutilating tail, has e-collar
off, monitor
may re-develop tail-chasing/self mutilation behavior if patient is crated or if anxiety related
may need trazadone if redirects and injures tail- can follow-up with acs clinic- contact clinic supervisor to coordinate
ok to kennels for continued care
