Volunteer 1: When I first walked up to Max?s kennel it was covered and he started barking as I was reading his notes. His bark starts with a growl which is why it sounds scarier. I saw he was just a little guy and realized he must have just tried to sound scary because he isn?t scary in the slightest. I leashed him and got him outside no problem. I thought he would want to play fetch, but because it was wet he opted for cuddling instead. He?s definitely been someone?s lapdog before and would love to be someone?s lapdog again. He?s a great companion and just lounged on my lap watching dogs for the longest time. He did bark as things walked from a distance or if they caught him off guard, but he stopped when I told him it was okay.

Volunteer 2: Max is very sweet, wiggly and affectionate! He was calm when I went to get him from his kennel, no jumping up. He kept climbing in my lap when I was sitting with him, he was resting his head on my shoulder. He was calm on the leash and didn't bark outdoors even though some of the other dogs in runs were barking obsessively - he just quietly watched. He took treats very gently!

When I approached his kennel, Max had a relaxed body. I leashed him and he walked on a loose leash to and from the outside runs. He was vocal in his kennel throughout the day when people were in the row.
In the afternoon, I went into his kennel and he rolled onto his back, wagging his tail while I pet him. When I stopped, he came and snuggled up against me.
High pitched vocalizing in the afternoon
When approaching kennel I observed that he kept his kennel clean throughout the night, as I went to open his door he walked into the leash and remained walking on loose leash. As we got outside he started to present a forward tensed body and shoulder blade hackles began rising, when trying to out him into one of the runs he hesitated and walked very stiff like into run while barking/ low growling at another dog. Later when returned to kennel and I began walking others he became barrier reactive and would start lunging, growling and barking at others while his back hackles were raised.
When I approached his kennel, Max greeted me with a loose wiggly body. He walked on a loose leash to and from the outside runs. Once back in his kennel, Max was quiet throughout the day.

Placing back on Beh Consul, When walking other dogs he becomes barrier reactive with back hackles raised, snarling and forward barking.
While people were walking in the row, Max was vocal at the front of his kennel. He walked on a loose leash for his AM walk with a relaxed body.

MAx greets me at kennel door with a wiggly body and tappy paws along with fast wagging tail. Once leashed walks out wiggly to the runs. Remains wiggly while outside. Walked back to kennel and is quiet in kennel. Sits at kennel door each time
I am coming around walking the row. Has been quiet and playing with enrichment in kennel.
