📝 Shelter Notes:

10/09/25 ? Dog was a move adopt this morning. Brought over in a bin, panicking in kennel, avoiding eye contact, tense body hackles up.

10/10/25 ? Approaching kennel, Donald is pancaking on bed with whale eyes and tucked tail. As I get closer with baby talk and treat offerings, dog then turns to the side lowering head to avoid being leashed along with raised hackles. As I attempt to lure him out, he continues to pancake (ignores chicken as a lure). Covered kennel door and gave extra enrichment.

10/11/25 ? As the ACT approached the kennel, Donald was pancaking on cot with whale eyes and a tucked tail. The ACT opened the gate and waited for Donald to walk out willingly but he was still pancaking on his cot and had his head turned away from the ACT. As the ACT got closer to Donald, he moved while pancaked to the wall and the ACT went and leashed him slowly and walked him slowly out the kennel. His tail was still tucked and he was still pancaking as he walked anywhere he walked towards. The ACT had to close some of the other kennel doors due to Donald trying to run into those kennels. Donald did not want to move anymore after he got closer to the door leading outside and stayed pancaked on the ground. The ACT carried him to outside and placed him on the grass and waited for him to do his business. However, he stayed pancaked on the ground the entire time and the ACT carried him back to his run.

10/12/25 ? Approaching the kennel, Donald was pancaking on the floor with whale eyes and tucked tail. As soon as the ACT walked into the run, Donald continued to pancake on the floor away from the ACT, arched when ACT reached closer. The ACT opened the kennel gate and waited for Donald to come out on his own. Donald walked out of run slowly with his tail still tucked and padded over to another dog?s kennel gate and sniffed and lost interest. The ACT moved him to the hallway and after helping him, he started to walk towards the door leading outside. Once outside, Donald started to walk more openness but he still walked with a tucked tail and low body language. During the walk, Donald really wanted to walk towards outreach but the ACT redirected him back towards the North Building. While this happened, Donald would stop and lay down on the grass on his stomach and roll over on his side and wag his tail. The ACT bent down to his level and talked/scratched his head and he started to wag his tail more. When the ACT scratched their right thigh, they started to shake their leg slightly. Donald was reluctant to start walking back towards his kennel. The ACT tried to use treat to get him to move but he only ate one treat. Eventually, Donald started to move towards the kennels on his own and did not react to any dogs that were passed by. He went into his kennel willingly.

10/09/25 ? Bloody jelly-like stool noted. Parvo test and fecal both negative.
10/04/25 ? Normal exam at intake. HW test NAD/NEG.
