About bleu: Hello, my name is Bleu. My animal id is #254148. I am a male gray dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 4 years old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 5/10/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- cannot afford to care for.
Bleu is at risk due to behavioral issues. He has a low threshold of arousal which results in extreme leash biting which he has displayed in his previous home as well as in the care center. While out on a walk Bleu began growling towards handler and a barrier has to be placed between them for assistance to be called to return to care center safely. Bleu's previous owner describes him as social, having high arousal, and affectionate. While in care he has been noted to accept treats from handlers. Bleu is apparently healthy.
