About five: Hello, my name is Five. My animal id is #256510. I am a male brown brindle dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 6/6/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- no time for animal.
Five is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Five's previous owner reported that he will jump, snap, or bite small animals while on leash. While in care, Five has been observed to be highly kennel reactive. Noted to pull hard towards the other dogs in the kennel room. When the handler pulls him away, Five is noted to jump up on them with an open mouth and, in one instance, snap at them. Five's previous owner describes him as loving and playful. They also state that he may know the cues sit, stay, and down. Medically, Five is apparently healthy.
