💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
I love Emmy. I am heartbroken she has a note about being barrier reactive because I saw none of that. I even purposely had her next to barking dogs through their kennels to see if she would react and nothing! She walked next to me super well on the leash. She was a mama at some point and has a cute curly tail. She just wants to be loved and has the kindest heart. Just look into her squishy face and you will melt! We temp tested her with the little tiny Frenchie mama and we had a squishy face party. She really is the best.
Volunteer 2: When I went to the shelter yesterday I didn't realize I was about to witness something really special. Two big female mastiffs mixes had come in as strays, but they were processed separately and placed in different rooms. When I read through their intake notes, something in my gut told me they were meant to be together. So I brought them both outside. And the moment they saw each other, I knew I made the right choice.
Their tails started wagging, bodies relaxed, and all that nervous energy disappeared. They ran along the fence line and looked at each other through the fence like 'where have you been?!' It was one of those rare shelter moments that reminds you why we do what we do.
Elsie (pink bandana)
https://24Petconnect.com/DetailsMain/HSTN/A2080551 is the more confident sister. She approaches first, checks that everything is safe, and warms up quickly. You can tell she is the more extroverted one, the one who gives her sister encouragement. Emmie (green bandana) is the shy girl. She watches the world carefully before deciding it's okay. But when Elsie is beside her, she feels safe and her whole body relaxed. Together, they are something truly just so beautiful. They walk calmly, have huge grins on their faces and lean into each other in a way that shows how deep their bond is. They're the kind of pair that reminds you love can survive anything. I know it is a long shot because they are big girls, but I really hope someone out there can adopt them together. What I saw between them was pure love and I just can't picture them separated.
