Thessia was reportedly hit by a car before arriving at BARC. She has an abrasion on her right front carpus (wrist) and is walking with a noticeable limp. She is receiving Carprofen for pain and inflammation. Thessia also tested high heartworm positive, a condition that is treatable once she is safely out of the shelter. She is designated Rescue Only due to her medical needs and will need a rescue or foster placement where she can recover.

🐾Behavior Notes:
Despite her injuries, Thessia remains eager to be with people. She greets visitors with a fast-wagging tail and walks on a semi-loose leash, only pulling occasionally with excitement. She was so ready to get out of her kennel that she tried to bolt when the door opened, and she needed encouragement with treats to return inside. Thessia's enthusiasm and friendly nature shine through, even while she's in pain.
