06/24/2026 Actively nursing litter - no dog/dog interaction nor outside observation at this time. Dog is laying down, nursing pups upon approach with a relaxed body and wide eyes. As I open kennel door and sit in entry, she displays sociability by coming over for treats offered by hand with a tense body, wide eyes and a low tail. As I offer her an open hand, palm facing up with not treats, she communicates for space by low growling with a tense body, wide eyes, tense mouth with trembling lips and a low tail while pulling lips back to expose her teeth. She is given space. Upon re-approach when separated from pups, she displays sociability by coming over to greet me at barrier with a tense body and a low wagging tail. She is interested in continued treats offered by hand through barrier. As I open an empty hand she continues to communicate for space by low growling with a tense body, wide eyes, tense mouth. Behavior possibly due to guarding of the litter. No guarding of the litter observed at this time. Vet Exam Notes:
