Bambi is at risk due to behavioral concerns. Since arriving at the care centers he has been observed to pull very hard on leash and has shown lack of impulse control consistently during interactions. He has shown a low threshold for arousal and has escalated to leash biting, jumping on and mouthing handlers. Additionally Bambi has shown signs of deterioration in kennel shortly after arriving and will intensely bite his crate bars or kennel walls. Bambi has otherwise shown social behavior toward handlers when interacted with. Medically, Bambi is apparently healthy.

Since arriving at the care centers, Bambi has displayed high levels of arousal paired with a lack of impulse control which has escalated to mouthing, jumping on handlers and leash biting. While in care he has also shown high levels of stress in kennel and has been observed chewing on his kennel bars intensely. We recommend placement with a New Hope rescue partner who is able to provide an experienced, adult-only foster home. Force-free, reward based training and/or consultation with a professional trainer/behaviorist is highly recommended.
