Buddy is at risk due to behavioral reasons. While in care, Buddy has been observed to have a low threshold for arousal. Noted to excessively mount and mouth the handler's leg. He is also observed to fixate on other dogs and pull towards them with a tense body. This behavior is able to be redirected once distance from the dog is increased. With handlers, Buddy will solicit attention and is receptive to treats. Medically, Buddy recently recovered from CIRDC.

Buddy came into the care cneter as an owner surrender; due to this, his behavioral concern in a home environment is unknown. Buddy has not adjusted well to the care center environment during walks he frequently pulls hard on leash and has attempted to jump toward people, including a person offering a poop bag. He has also become fixated on other dogs, pulling toward them with a tense body, though he can disengage when distance is created. In the yard, Buddy has displayed excessive mounting, scratching, and intense mouthing of a handler's leg. He has also shown to solicit attention from staff and accepts treats. Buddy is available for rescue through one of our new hope partners.
