Rufferee is on the at-risk list due to behavior concerns. In the care center, Rufferee has shown high arousal and fixation around toys, including becoming tense, hovering over and body-blocking toys, and becoming difficult to redirect on walks as well when he notices random toys or items on the ground. He has also lunged and snapped toward staff when becoming aroused during medical handling. Outside these moments, Rufferee is social and always willing to engage in training sessions and yard time. Medically, Rufferee is apparently healthy.

Rufferee came into the QUACC after being brought in as a stray. In the care centers, Rufferee has displayed a low threshold for arousal after becoming aroused trying to get a toy bin, and being checked by medical staff, Rufferee lunged and snapped at staff. He has also displayed some resource guarding in the care center, becoming tense around toys. Rufferee otherwise engages with staff exburantly and has a lot of energy. As a result, we recommend Rufferee is placed with one of our New Hope Partners.
