Excalibur is at risk due to behavioral concerns. In the Care Centers, Excalibur has displayed reactivity toward other dogs. On one occasion, he redirected his frustration toward a staff member by muzzle punching them. Due to his reactivity, staff manage his outings by limiting his walks to the Care Center pens to reduce exposure to other dogs. When dogs are not present, Excalibur is social with staff, allowing petting and readily taking treats when offered. Excalibur arrived at MACC as a stray with no known history. While in care, he has been observed to be highly dog reactive. Noted to vocalize loudly and lunge towards the other dogs with raised hackles. During one instance after reacting to another dog, Excalibur muzzle punches the handler's leg. Due to Excalibur's reactivity, we recommend an adult only, single pet home that makes no trips to the dog park.
