Tipton County Animal Control has a dedicated group of volunteers who are dedicated to saving the lives of these animals. If you are located out of state, there are volunteers who can bring these dogs to a veterinary clinic where dogs can receive their vaccinations, get a heartworm test, and get spayed/ neutered. We have a number of transport affiliations and can do everything in our power to get these dogs to their forever homes.
If you do not want to adopt, but are within driving distance to Memphis and are willing to foster this dog, please email kesalerno@gmail.com. PAWS New England/ Tipton Treasures Inc. will provide all veterinary and food resources during the foster period and typical fosters last 2 week- 2 months. Finally, if you can not adopt this dog, but would like to make a donation to save their life, please email kesalerno@gmail.com. We have extremely limited space- but will make every effort to get these dogs in safe and wonderful homes.
Important Things To Consider
-Adopting a dog is often at least a 10-12 year commitment. Please be sure you are ready for the time, the financial, and the emotional responsibility that comes along with dog ownership before you decide to adopt.
-The dogs at Tipton often have no vetting at all. Each dog pulled from the shelter needs vaccinations, spay/ neuter surgery, and a heartworm test.
-For adopters out of state, the veterinary bill and transport bill can get expensive. Please consider this before deciding to pull a dog.
-As the majority of these dogs are strays, Tipton Animal Control staff has no background or medical information about them
-If you want to help, but want greater assurance about the health and temperament of the dog, please visit the PAWS website. For every dog that is adopted from our website, we are able to pull another dog from Tipton. For a complete listing of our dogs, please visit: pawsnewengland.petfinder.com.
