Roxy is an amazingly sweet and friendly Rottweiler mix. Don't let her breed scare you, she loves people. She is about 1 1/2 years old and weighs 61lbs. She knows sit and shake. Her former owner lost his home and was no longer able to keep her.
All dogs adopted from AC&C are current on all vaccines including rabies, spayed or microchipped, currently heartworm negative (or have been treated for heartworms). They have also been given heartworm & flea preventive while at the shelter. Our adoption fee is $80 and if you live in Duval County there is a city license fee of $15. Dogs that have been in the shelter for an extended period of time are often offered at a discount; please ask our front office for details. While we do welcome out of state adoptions we do not have the resources to transport animals and suggest you come to our shelter to visit them. The majority of the animals we offer for adoption are strays and we post as much information as we know about them. Certain breeds, including pit bulls, rottweilers & Dobermans, require a background check and home visit. Adoption hours at the main shelter are Monday through Saturday 9am to 4:30pm.
