A volunteer writes: Although Greyson is just 3 years old, he has been through his tough times. Found as a stray, Greyson was covered in bug bites. Despite coming from difficult circumstances, Greyson remains sweet and gentle, and loves to give kisses. He walks very well on a leash, loves to play with toys (and is very creative?he tried to play tug of war with an old rag he found the other day!), and enjoys a good scratch on the bum. 09/13/16 13:20 Upon intake Greyson was relaxed and greeted counselor with a loose wiggly body. Attempted to engage in play when scanning, jumped and licked cousnelors hand. Cousnelor was able to collar, scan and photograph.

Another volunteer writes: After hearing from so many volunteers how awesome Greyson is, I decided that I had to meet him and see for myself. He is a super handsome boy whose tail never stops wagging, seems to be housetrained, loves playing with toys and is friendly and social. He made my job of taking photos easy as he poses like a dog who?s used to having his photo taken (he?s so good looking I?m not surprised), and when I asked him to gave me a perfect sit. Greyson told me he?s ready to find his ?happily ever after? person so ask to meet our sweet boy today.

Greyson came into the shelter as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. Behavior during intake: Greyson was friendly with a loose body posture. He allowed all handling by the counselor. During SAFER Greyson walked into the assessment room relaxed and he had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor, he allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue.
Greyson engaged with assessor during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Greyson was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Greyson appears to be sociable, and did not display any behavior concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an Average adopter. Look: 1. Dog?s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He was a bit distracted; he allows head to be held loosely in Assessor?s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog?s mouth is closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, mouths leash slowly de-escalates. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Licks hand. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed, with his mouth open. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy.

Greyson was brought in as stray so his behavior around other dogs is unknown. 9/14: Due to the Greyson?s medical concerns (Biting and licking at all four feet. Swollen between toes.), we did not bring him out to playgroup. We will take him out tomorrow after he has had some time to acclimate and his treatments have had time to take effect. 9/15: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Greyson greets the novel female dog displaying loose and wiggly body language. He immediately mounts her and persists after handler interruptions. The handlers have to physically removing him to cease the mounting.
